Replace the drum.
Keep the performance.
Replacr finds every transient in your track, fires your sample on each hit at the right level, and bounces a full-length WAV that drops straight back into your session at the top.
For Mac. Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
Four steps, no guesswork.
You see every hit before anything gets rendered, and you can audition the sample against the source as you go.
-
Import
Drag in your source tracks, WAV or AIFF, and the sample you want to trigger. Sample rates are matched for you.
-
Detect
Dial the threshold and holdout. Every hit shows up as a marker on the track, and Tab jumps you from one to the next.
-
Shape
Match the original peaks or scale dynamics, blend in some of the source, and choose whether overlapping hits layer or choke.
-
Bounce
Render at 16 bit, 24 bit or 32 bit float. The file is the same length as the source, so it lines up at the top of your session.
The controls you actually reach for.
Laid out like a console, with real ranges and nothing hidden in a menu.
Detection
- Threshold
- -60 to 0 dB
- A hit triggers when the signal crosses this level.
- Holdout
- 5 to 500 ms
- Blocks retriggers for that long after each hit, so ringing and flams don't double fire.
- Peak window
- 0.5 to 30 ms
- How long after the crossing Replacr looks for the true peak of the hit.
- Offset
- -20 to +20 ms
- Nudge every replacement earlier or later to line up with the source.
Velocity
- Mode
- Off, relative, match peak
- Match peak scales each replacement so its peak matches the original hit. Relative plays the loudest hit at unity and scales softer hits down with their peak.
- Dynamics
- 0 to 200%
- Flatten the performance out or push it further than the player did.
- Hit velocity map
- Every hit
- See the level of every hit at a glance before you bounce.
Output
- Gain
- -24 to +12 dB
- Overall level of the replaced track.
- Source mix
- Off to 0 dB
- Blend some of the original under the sample when you want both.
- Overlap
- Layer or choke
- Let tails ring over each other, or cut the previous hit when the next one lands.
- Choke fade
- 1 to 50 ms
- How quickly a choked tail fades so the cut stays clean.
Bounce
- Bit depth
- 16, 24, 32 float
- WAV at the source sample rate.
- Full length
- Sample accurate
- Starts at zero and runs the length of the source, so there's nothing to line up.
- Batch bounce
- Checked tracks
- Render every checked track in one pass with the same settings.
- Monitor and audition
- M and P
- Flip between source and replaced, or audition the sample on its own.
Batch the whole kit, or every take.
Load a stack of similar tracks, set it up once on the active track, and see how many hits each one will trigger before you commit. Uncheck anything you want to leave alone.

Your audio never leaves your Mac.
Replacr works entirely offline. No account, no uploads, no analytics, no tracking. It only opens the files you choose and writes the bounces you ask for. Read the privacy policy.
I've spent more than 15 years engineering sessions, and I wanted a tool like this for a long time. Something fast, offline and upfront about what it's doing. You see every hit, you hear it, and you bounce a file that just works in whatever session you're in.
So I built it.
